About Janea
Janea was born May 7, 2006, in Iowa City, the daughter of Walter and Dana (Reed) Osier. She grew up in the Salem and Mount Pleasant communities, and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 2023, a year early. She worked as a car detailer at J.D. Byrdyer in Burlington.
Janea was the definition of a free spirit. She had a passion for traveling and riding motorcycles, and a deep love for animals— especially her dog Nova. She spent as much time as she could outside: swimming in ponds and lakes, fishing, and being out in nature. She loved her family and her friends, especially her best friend Aaeriona Barker. She carried the best qualities of all her people inside her, and she will be deeply missed.

Survived by— her mother Dana (Pat Ireland) Osier of Mount Pleasant; her father Walt (Kim Bessine) Osier of Danville; brothers Beau (Shyanne Kirby) Reed of Anamosa and Chantz (Lyndsey) Vargus of Mount Pleasant; sisters Katie (Tim) Ireland of Dyersville, Desiree (Brandon Schmitter) Osier of Keosauqua, and Kelso (Dayton Griggs) Messerschmitt of Seattle, WA; granny Janet Boulton of Mount Pleasant; grandfathers Danny (Marie) Reed of Macomb, IL and Jerry (Mary Dietrick) Osier of Mount Pleasant; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
